Overview

Our adventure will begin from Ouarzazate to Zagora before crossing Draa Valley to the Sahara of M’hamid where we will live some traditional experiences such as camel rides and spending the night in Berber Camp between dunes.



Itinerary

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Agdez – Draa Valley – Zagora – M’hamid

Early morning we will have a departure via Agdez, the starting point of the Draa Valley, to M’hamid and its Erg Lihoudi dunes, with a quick stop for a tea break. The journey continues in the afternoon to M’hamid, where the paved road ends and the Sahara desert officially begins. We will be transported to the Erg Lihoudi dunes by camel per person, where we will camp between the dunes and watch a breathtaking sunset. 2-day excursion from Ouarzazate into the desert

Day 2: M’hamid – Tamgroute – Zagora – Ouarzazate

Should you have the audacity to rise early, you will be treated to a breathtaking dawn as the sun filters its warm rays across the dunes. After breakfast, we will ride camels back up the dunes from Erg Lihoudi to M’hamid and start our journey north to Tamgroute, where we will learn about one of the most significant Islamic Koranic libraries, which once had over 40,000 copies but are now widely dispersed throughout Morocco. The road then heads north once more, stopping for lunch at Tamnougalte’s Kasbah. At the end of the day, we reach Ouarzazate, which is situated on the other side of the Anti-Atlas and the Tizi-n-Tinfifite mountain pass (1660m).


